About Us

Derek has been involved in the building industry since 1990, gaining varied experience building rural farm structures, kit set homes and architecturally designed properties.

After working overseas in both Australia and the UK, Derek returned to New Zealand in 1999 and started his own building company, DC Homes. Here he was able to put his experience to good use and both designed and built homes for his customers.

In 2003, Derek relocated to Cromwell and continued designing and building, eventually going on to join Shaun to form Hunter and Craig Building and Design Ltd in 2013.

Derek’s knowledge of the design and build process ensures a smooth work flow throughout each and every project.

Originally hailing from Timaru, Shaun has been involved in the building industry for over a decade, gaining full trade qualification in 2010. During that time he has been involved in a wide range of projects, with a keen focus on high quality and high spec residential builds.

At Hunter & Craig, Shaun fulfills the role of Project Manager, overseeing each build from start to finish. He greatly enjoys the challenge of seamlessly managing the multiple aspects of each project and ensuring everything comes together perfectly.

No job is too difficult for Shaun and it’s the more challenging tasks that he finds the most rewarding.
